This course will explore advanced concepts in electrical power systems. You will learn about power-flow analysis for interconnected systems, power system dynamics and stability, transient electromechanical phenomena caused by faults, voltage and frequency control for large power networks. In addition, you will also learn economic load dispatch, unit commitment, and engineering and commercial aspects of power market operation including the operation of the National Electricity Market (NEM). Finally you will receive a brief insight on contemporary topics in power systems; such as Smart Grid concepts and impact of renewable power generation on electricity networks.
