This is an advanced graduate level course on the theory and implementation of nonlinear finite element methods for solving boundary value problems in solid mechanics. This course introduces non-linear computational methods to solve problems in solids and structures. These concepts can be extended to any multi-physics problem, but the focus of the present course will be more on solid mechanics. This course is to train the students to equip with the both the theory and implementations. On successful completion of this course one should be able to solve a nonlinear BVP using his or her own code.
