When you install a new hard disk in Windows 7, the hard disk must be initiated before it can be used. This creates the basic structure and layout of the hard disk. In this process the partition table is created, which can be MBR or GPT. This video looks at how these partition tables work and how to create them with the disk manager and the command line utility, DiskPart.
